The club imported a few innovations from Marlton’s former Northwest ventures, including those focused on the club experience.  First among them are translucent “shadowboxes” in which erotic dancers writhe onstage accompanied by resident DJ, Madd One, when the platform is not being utilized by a live band.

While guiding the action on the floor and onstage, the booth also serves as the control hub for a 24-track recording studio. With 100 speakers throughout the venue, six plasma screens, a $45,000 Sony digital projector and a 250 inch big screen that descends from the ceiling on the main stage...the club is capable of capturing live performances as well as hosting movie premieres and other multimedia functions. Additionally, a half-dozen screens cross-pollinate the action in Pearl; giving restaurant patrons a glimpse of the main stage while two screens in the club might feature a live cabaret show taking place in the VIP room.

The brainchild of Portland entrepreneur Steve Marlton and his joint venture partners Pat Marlton, Clark and Rob Goodman, and Bill Houston, the newly renovated, 7,500 square foot venue on Robertson Boulevard, looks to import a few innovations from Marlton’s former Northwest ventures, including those focused on the club experience.  First among them are translucent “shadowboxes” in which erotic dancers will writhe onstage accompanied by resident DJ, Madd One, when the platform is not being utilized by a live band. Then there are specialty nights...including “Sinferno” (sexy vaudeville acts) and “Karaoke from Hell” (patrons singing with a live band)... that will further infuse Pearl with an ambience both erotic and audacious.
